Ugly Radio Rebellion performs Frank Zappa with special guest Ike Willis

Isaac “Ike” Willis, American vocalist and guitarist, was a regular member of Frank Zappa’s studio and touring bands from 1978 to 1980, returning for the final two tours in 1984 and 1988. He now tours with several Zappa tribute bands and will be playing the 2017 Zappanale Festival in Bad Doberan, Germany with Dweezil Zappa. He is most recognized for his involvement in Zappa records. He played Joe in Joe’s Garage, provided vocals on Tinsel Town Rebellion, You Are What You Is, and The Man from Utopia. He was also the title character and narrator in Zappa’s off-Broadway-styled conceptual musical Thing-Fish.

Ugly Radio Rebellion’s origins go back to a Detroit band known as Uncle Meat in 2002 by guitarist Scott Schroen which was eventually disbanded and reformed by Scott Schroen and bassist Preston Parish as…Ugly Radio Rebellion.

URR has played consistently in the Midwest and Southeast for more than 10 years and over 300 shows, the line-up has changed over the years with many talented musicians paying tribute to the music of Frank Zappa.

Ugly Radio Rebellion and Ike Willis first played together in 2004, playing over 100 shows together since then.
