Johnny Rogers to perform at Riviera Theatre on Saturday
THREE RIVERS — Guitarist and vocalist Johnny Rogers will return to Three Rivers this Saturday, and will bring the music of several rock ‘n roll legends with him to the Riviera Theatre in historic downtown Three Rivers.
Last year Rogers displayed his versatility by ending his set with a cover of Prince’s “Purple Rain,” and said he and his native Midwestern band mates perform a variety of songs from Buddy Holly to Hank Williams, Sr.
“Every show is different. I never do the same show. I have a structured show that I try to go by but usually I’ll look at the audience and something else will pop in my head,” Rogers said in an interview with the Commercial-News last summer.
Rogers tries to include segments in his show where he performs original songs, and takes suggestions from the audience.
“I always want my fans walking away feeling like they got their money’s work, which they will. And feeling like they’ve seen one of the best entertainers they’ve ever seen, which they will,” Rogers said with a chuckle.
“The Johnny Rogers Show: Buddy and Beyond” will begin at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 23 inside the Riviera Theatre Auditorium. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 on the day of the show, and can be purchased online or at the Riviera Theatre.
