Three Rivers rang in the new year Tuesday with the first-ever New Year’s Eve ball drop on Main Street during the city’s Midnight on Main event, put on by the Three Rivers Downtown Development Authority. TRDDA Executive Director Tricia Meyer said she was impressed by the turnout, having given out all 100 “swag bags” available to party goers, and is looking forward to doing the event again next year. “Everybody was really positive and said what a great event it was,” Meyer said. “It was cool to see everybody gather on the street for the countdown.” Meyer thanks Twin County Community Probation Center, the Three Rivers Fire Department, John Rivers and Venue 45, The Landmark Taphouse and Grille, Brucrew Coffee Company, the Riviera Theatre, and Charvat Agency for helping put the event together.
